The investigation continues into an air scare over Canada, as pieces of a commercial jet reportedly fell from the sky.

Witnesses said they heard a loud boom and saw pieces of an Air Canada Boeing 777 rain down on cars in Toronto near Pearson International Airport.

Most of the chunks were about the size of a cellphone. Witnesses said they were initially too hot to touch and smelled like jet fuel.

The plane took off for Tokyo but returned to the airport after an engine shut down. No one was injured.
