Travelers flying through Boston's Logan International Airport are being greeted by a friendly agent named Carla. But she's not exactly a real person.

Carla is part of the airport's new experiment to improve the security screening process for travelers. The virtual customer service agent gives instructions to passengers in both English and Spanish.

An airport official says Carla is a vast improvement over the signs.

Boston Logan is one of the nation's first airports to try a virtual customer agent.
