$6M worth of marijuana found in San Gabriel Valley homes, 2 arrested

DIAMOND BAR, Calif.

According to authorities, a tip led deputies to the homes in Diamond Bar and Hacienda Heights.

Along with the 2,000-plus marijuana plants, authories found approximately 20 pounds of finished product in the rental properties.

Detectives also learned that electricity was being stolen from Southern California Edison (SCE) at all three of the locations. SCE representatives are in the process of estimating their total loss.

Binh Ly, 43, of Rosemead, and 45-year-old Thank Chiem, of San Jose, were arrested and booked on suspicion of drug offenses. Each was being held on $170,000 bail.
