According to authorities Chad Howard Vanhulzen, 37, met the girl at a party in June in Torrance. Police say Vanhulzen and the 14-year-old became involved in a consensual sexual relationship.
Vanhulzen was arrested Nov. 14 after the girl's parents discovered the alleged relationship and notified police.
Vanhulzen is being held on $1.25 million bail. He has pleaded not guilty and will return to court Dec. 6.
