Panda cub soaks in sunshine at Taipei Zoo

TAIPEI, China

Yuan Zai was born July 6 at the Taipei Zoo. Her name means "little fatty." She only weighs 13 pounds, so she's more fluffy than anything.

Animal handlers placed the 95-day-old cub in a basket in the sun. The sunshine is supposed to help her bones grow.

China has nearly 1,600 giant pandas in the wild and about 310 in captivity. They also have about 40 in other countries and regions, according to Chinese zoologists.
