Torrance donut shop robbery: Suspect sought, video released

TORRANCE, Calif.

According to police, the robbery happened at Yum Yum Donuts on the 17200 block of Prairie Avenue during the afternoon of Nov. 27.

The video shows the female clerk walking up to help the suspect, who is waiting at the register. The suspect then pulls out a screw driver, grabs the clerk and demands money from the register. He stabs the clerk several times. He eventually grabs her by the hair, and she pulls him over the counter in her attempt to escape his grasp. The clerk then opens the register and the suspect takes an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say after the suspect took the money, he took the clerk into a back room and stabbed her again. The clerk was rushed to the hospital. She has made a full recovery.

The suspect is described as a man standing 6 feet tall with a slim build, between 30 and 40 years old. He was last seen wearing an orange short sleeve button-up shirt with khakis, a dark blue cap and white shoes.
