Police say the man suffered a gunshot wound to the head around 8 p.m. Saturday.
"When they responded here they found the victim down in the shooting range. It appeared that the victim either accidentally shot himself or it was possibly a suicide," said Sgt. Lou Contreras with the Los Angeles police.
Surveillance video is being reviewed to try to determine whether the shooting was accidental or intentional.
So far, the man's name has not been released. Authorities say he was in his mid 30s.
