Huntington Beach cocaine bust: Nearly $1.3 M in drug seized

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.

Police discovered the cocaine in a black Nissan Sentra during a traffic stop near Edinger Avenue and Countess Drive on Tuesday.

According to police, 44-year-old Antonio Tzampop and 39-year-old Jose Campos, both of Panorama City, were acting unusually nervous. Officers received permission to search the truck, and a K9 named Bohdy found bricks of cocaine in a large tire in the trunk.

In all, 27 kilos of cocaine were seized. The approximate street value of the drugs is $1,297,645.

Tzampop and Campos were booked at the city jail for transportation of a controlled substance.

The investigation is ongoing.
