A settlement was reached between Rooney's wife Janice and his conservator, Michael Augustine. The settlement was approved by Judge Lesley Green.
The agreement stipulates the private burial will be family only. A date for the burial was not set as of Friday afternoon.
Augustine's attorney said a benefactor will pay for the burial expenses.
Three of Rooney's biological daughters have been included in the funeral arrangement.
The agreement settles an earlier dispute over whether to bury Rooney at Forest Lawn Mortuary, Hollywood Forever or a location in Ventura County.
