LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The University of California, Los Angeles Police Department is looking for more victims who were possibly scammed while trying to lease apartments near the campus.

Police arrested James Webb Hunter last week. Hunter is accused of posting advertisements on Craigslist for apartment rentals. Police say he would then scam people out of money while the lease was being transferred to someone else.

Police believe there are more victims. He drove a white 2004 Ford Taurus with previous license plate number 6YEG332 and current license plate number 7HAL689.

Authorities say Hunter drove this car around campus. The 37-year-old is described as Caucasian, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 190 pounds with brown hair.

If you believe you have been victimized by Hunter, you're urged to contact UCPD.

Officers advise to always check with management before signing any lease documents.
