LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- As Southern California honored those who served in the U.S. military, the Dodgers on Thursday hosted a group of active service members and veterans at Dodger Stadium.
Over 200 veterans and their families got to go on the iconic field at Chavez Ravine and take a swing with some batting practice.
The group, all from different branches of the military, bonded over shared experiences and the rare chance to get to step on the field.
"To just see people from different walks of life, all coming together, smiling... having a good time. It's a good pick-me-up," said Khari al-Mateen, who served in the Navy.
