HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- "Eleanor Rigby" was recorded by the legendary Beatles nearly 50 years ago, long before the 5th graders from Noble Avenue Elementary School in North Hills were even born. Still, it was one of the songs they chose to sing during their visit to Capitol Records in Hollywood Tuesday.
"It's my first time being in Capitol Records where famous persons used to be so it's an experience for me," one student said.
The Beatles released many of their greatest recordings on the Capitol Records label. Being inside the same studios where music industry superstars have recorded hits for decades was a special experience for the students.
"A place they may never ever be able to come to and the education of being able to sing and do a song from beginning to end," said Ava Ham, a music teacher at Noble Avenue Elementary School.
When it was time to record Taylor Swift's hit song, the smiles were bright and they had no trouble "shaking off" their nerves.
There may have been some future singers and musicians in the room, but Tuesday was about having a great experience.
"The equivalent would be being able to just sort of bring your government class to the White House or the Capitol building," said Christopher Rodriguez of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
