Fatal crash on northbound 405 Freeway closes lanes, leads to slowdown on both sides

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A fatal crash on the northbound 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass led to major slowdown on southbound side Tuesday.

The crash involving a semi-truck and another vehicle happened at 4 a.m. near the Getty Center Drive exit. One person was killed.

Traffic could be seen backing up for miles on the 405 Freeway southbound as a result of the incident. From Air7 HD, debris could be seen spewed across several lanes.

The victim has not been identified. Details of what led up to the crash were not immediately disclosed.

An investigation into the accident was underway, prompting the closure of the Nos. 4, 5 and 6 northbound lanes of the freeway just south of Bel Air Crest Road while an investigation was conducted.
