PALMDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- A flash mob took over the Antelope Valley Tuesday night.

The event was supposed to be held in Burbank, but a large police presence forced car enthusiasts to a different location in Palmdale.

Cars streamed into a Palmdale shopping center, packing the parking lots around Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Hundreds of car enthusiasts were hanging out and admiring a wide variety of vehicles.

"The people coming together, not really anything illegal, everyone just having a good time, coming out, have some doughnuts, talk about cars, and yeah it's a good time," said Blake Uniack of Agoura Hills.

"We ended up in Palmdale because obviously it looks like a city that wants our business," said Jeremy Lee, an organizer of the gathering.

Organizers of the so-called "Krispy Kreme Tuesdays" - a car meet that attracts thousands - have held several past gatherings at the Burbank Empire Center. But officials at the shopping center say unruly crowds trashed the property and became a threat to safety.

On Tuesday, they set up barricades hoping to prevent the flash mob from gathering, so organizers decided to move the event to Palmdale.

"We're not about making trouble," said Lee. "We're literally about just parking and showing off our cars."

Those attending say they enjoy the cars and the atmosphere.

"It's fun, it's nice to chill and see new cars and nice people," said Mary De Santis of Palmdale. "The cops are out here, but as long as we don't do burnouts, we're allowed to be here."

Organizers say this is the last time they will hold one of these pop-up "Krispy Kreme Tuesdays" events. They say in the future they plan to hold more organized events and will probably charge a fee for admission.
