Compton suspect wounded in deputy-involved shooting

COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- Deputies responding to a report of a man with a gun shot a suspect in Compton on Wednesday.

The report came in around 4:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Compton Boulevard in front of a McDonald's restaurant and a Chevron gas station.

A deputy shot the suspect, who was treated at the scene and transported to an area hospital. The condition of that suspect was not immediately known.

No deputies were injured.

The shooting was under investigation.
