Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department sergeant hospitalized after cruiser overturns in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) -- A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department sergeant was hospitalized after he lost control and crashed in Lancaster Thursday night while responding to a call.

The deputy's cruiser overturned near Avenue J8 and Sierra Highway around 9 p.m. Officials said he swerved to avoid a pedestrian in the road.

The sergeant suffered moderate injuries. No one else was hurt.
