LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man was shot in the foot during an altercation that appeared to be gang-related Saturday in South Los Angeles, Los Angeles police said.
The incident was initially reported as a robbery. Authorities believe an unknown number of suspects confronted the victim near 22nd Street and Maple Avenue and a physical confrontation occurred. One suspect allegedly fired several shots at the victim. All fled the scene.
When officers arrived, they set up a perimeter around the area, but did not locate the victim or suspect. Witnesses told officers the suspect may have gone into a residence down the street.
Detectives later went to a hospital and found the victim, who was in stable condition and not cooperating with the investigation.
