Farhan Khan, the brother-in-law of San Bernardino shooting suspect Syed Rizwan Farook, addresses the media on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- The brother-in-law of Syed Rizwan Farook, one of the shooting suspects in San Bernardino, spoke at a press conference Wednesday evening held by the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Farhan Khan, who is married to Farook's sister, spoke on behalf of his family in Anaheim.

Khan said he last spoke with Farook about a week ago and said nothing seemed out of the ordinary, and that his brother-in-law actually seemed very happy.

Farook and Tashfeen Malik had a baby girl about six months ago and Khan said they took the child to a relative's home Wednesday morning and dropped her off.

Hussam Ayloush, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told ABC News the suspects told their family they had a doctor's appointment.

During the press conference, Khan said he was in "shock."

"I am very sad, deeply sad and shocked something like this happened here in my community. I love this country, I'm living in this community for a long time and something like this happened here," Khan said.

"On behalf of my family, we all are shocked and very sorry for what happened," he continued. "I have no idea why [Farook] would do that."
