Politicon, nonpartisan event for politics and entertainment, debuts in Los Angeles
Politicon, the first-ever nonpartisan Comic-Con event for politics and entertainment, debut this weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The two-day event featured panels, movie screenings, debates, art, book signings, music and comedy.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southern California has no shortage of colorful, animated and campy conventions. Now events like Comic-Con and the Anime Expo will be sharing the Los Angeles Convention spotlight with Politicon, the first-ever Comic-Con of politics and entertainment.

Simon Sidi is the man behind Politicon, which he pegs as a nonpartisan stew of real and make-believe politics.

"It's everything you would imagine that a Comic-Con event for politics and pop culture would be -- music, art, comedy, books, films, TV, radio, podcasts and politics," he said.
