SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- The death of a 55-year-old man at a Fourth of July block party is being investigated by Santa Ana police homicide detectives.

Around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 2500 block of North Linwood Avenue to assist Orange County Fire Authority personnel with a man who was unresponsive on the street.

When officers arrived, the 55-year-old man was receiving CPR. He was then transported to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana and was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began investigating the incident. A preliminary investigation found that a fight had occurred in the neighborhood during the party and that the man was involved.

It is unclear if he sustained a fatal injury during the fight or if he died because of a medical condition. An autopsy is being conducted to determine cause of death.

There are no outstanding suspects in the case, and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the SAPD homicide detectives at (714) 245-8390 or "OC Crime Stoppers" at (855) TIP-OCCS.
