Canter's Deli co-owner, Gary Canter, dies

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Gary Canter, co-owner of the famed Canter's Deli in Los Angeles, has died.

Canter's personal Facebook page stated that he died Tuesday night after an apparent heart attack.

The coroner's office told Eyewitness News that Canter was found unresponsive at his home.

The famous Canter's Deli on Fairfax Avenue has long been a popular hangout.

Gary's grandfather, Ben Canter, founded the deli with his brothers in 1931.

Gary Canter was 58 years old.
