SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 36-year-old delivery man was found shot to death in his delivery truck in South Los Angeles on Friday.

Pedro Antonio Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene by fire department paramedics. Police believe he was the victim of a robbery.

The shooting took place on the 4700 block of South Flower Street around 7:30 a.m. A resident noticed the delivery truck parked haphazardly, looked inside the cab, found the victim bleeding, and called police.

"I saw him laying, and on the side, like towards the passenger side," said Maggie Flores. "I noticed his hands were bleeding and his hands were tied on his back. Immediately I called 911."

Flores also said she heard what she thought were fireworks around midnight.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Residents said they have seen the victim before. They said he would come to the area about once a week to visit the prostitutes in the neighborhood. The incident has residents demanding more police presence.

Anyone with information about this homicide is urged to call Detectives Eddie Amaral or Miguel Gutierrez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Gang/Homicide Division at (213) 485-1383 or (877) LAPD-24-7.
