Southern California theme park discounts
With summer fast approaching, Eyewitness News has dug up some ways to save big money at local theme parks.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A day at a theme park can be expensive for families in Southern California. With the busy summer season fast approaching, Eyewitness News has uncovered some ways to save big money at the local parks.

At Universal Studios Hollywood, a regular one-day ticket for those 10 and up goes for $92. But you can get $5 off if you purchase online.

Universal also has an online deal now where if you buy a one-day pass at the regular price of $92, you can get in the rest of the year free. The Annual Pass also gives you a 10 percent discount on food, which can add up fast, plus 15 percent off merchandise inside the park.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is known for its gut-wrenching thrill rides. A ticket to the theme park will set you back $67.99 at the gate. But if you buy your ticket online, you'll pay $47.99, a $20 savings.

If you buy a three-or five-day advance purchase ticket online by June 1, you'll save even more. It's $42.99 for the five-day advance purchase pass.

The best deal at Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure is a two- or three-day pass for SoCal residents only. A two-day pass, which allows you to visit one park each day, sells for $175 at the gate for those 10 and up. But, SoCal residents get in for $129, a $46 savings until June 6. These tickets must be purchased by the end of this month.

AAA members buying a two-day pass can spend about $3 less. But, an even bigger savings is free parking, which otherwise costs $16. That's a $32 savings for the two-day SoCal pass, which must be purchased directly from AAA.

If you're going to Knott's Berry Farm, a regular admission ticket is $62. But again, it pays to shop online. Until June 26, a three-day advance ticket is $39.

It's just $33 to get in for visitors ages 3 to 11, and seniors over 62, if you buy in advance.
