'Batman v. Superman' success thrilling to Laurence Fishburne
As a comic-book fan, Laurence Fishburne has been waiting a long time for "Batman vs. Superman."

Actor Laurence Fishburne is happy to see the huge success of "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" - not just because he has a role in the film, but because he's a longtime comic-book fan.

"This is the movie that I've been waiting to see for 35 years," Fishburne said.

The Warner Bros. film has already taken in more than $500 million worldwide at the box office in only a week since its release.

Fishburne reprises his role from "Man of Steel" as Daily Planet editor Perry White. He describes his character's relationship with ace reporter Lois Lane as: "she's my favorite child and she's my problem child."

Fishburne is also keeping busy with television work, playing Pops on ABC's "Black-ish," and serving as one of the show's executive producers.

The key to the sitcom's success, he said, is its portrayal of genuine family issues.

"I think it's basically that it's a real family and we're being as authentic as we can about what it is to be a family, to be a black family, to be a universal family. The struggles and challenges of raising children in today's world."
