Desvelados is a new taco experience

GLENDALE, Calif. -- Desvelado literally translates to "sleepless" or "sleep-deprived," so it's no surprise that with a unique name like 'Desvelados' comes unique tacos that you will not find anywhere else. 'Tacos Los Desvelados' originally opened in Maywood, CA, but now has multiple locations including Glendale and West Covina with Whittier and Pasadena opening soon.

'Desvelados' boasts an impressive food and drink menu, but it was their signature 'Desvelado Taco' that put them on the map. "Tangy chipotle sauce, smothered over battered shrimp fried to perfection," says hostess and server Maria Salazar. "With fresh carne asada made on a daily basis. It comes with melted cheese... and it's going to melt in your mouth like you will never imagine.

"Regular street tacos are also really good," says Amir Martin of La Canada. "This one here, it's also the shrimp, the sauce, the melted cheese, it made it really, really good."

"The cocina is such a scratch kitchen you taste the difference," Salazar told Localish. "It feels good in your heart, it feels good in your palate, and it feels good in the soul."
