LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- More than 100,000 private photos have been stolen from Snapchat, the popular photo messaging app.
A spokeswoman for Snapchat said hackers obtained the photos through a third party app, which is often used without the sender's knowledge.
The hackers have said they may publish the private images, which are likely to include child porn.
The company says Snapchat itself was not compromised in the hack, but its users were victimized.
