IRVINE, Calif. -- A 34-year-old Tustin man was arrested after police say he tried to lure underage boys by posing as a woman on Craigslist.
Irvine police say Sherwin Ngo posted personal ads offering sex on Craigslist, pretending to be female. On at least one occasion, he knowingly had sexual contact with a minor.
There are two known victims. The first victim, a 15-year-old boy from Irvine, was identified after his mother found explicit emails on his tablet computer. The second victim is a 16-year-old boy from Mission Viejo.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims. When investigators served a search warrant on Ngo's email accounts, they found a large number of emails relevant to this case.
Ngo was arrested for felony lewd conduct with a child at his work place, a financial institution in Irvine, and booked into the Orange County Jail on Friday.
"There's a warning in here for parents. Please do be cognizant of what your children are doing on the internet," Irvine Police Comm. Julia Engen said. "The anonymity does provide an opportunity for people to perpetrate crimes."
Engen suggested placing computers in common areas and limiting the number of hours children are on the internet.
