MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif. (KABC) -- As winter returns to California, snow is coming down fast at Mammoth Mountain.
The snow started falling in the area Tuesday night, and it hasn't stopped yet. About 4 feet of fresh powder is likely by time the storm clears on Saturday.
A spokesperson said there was 18 inches of fresh snow on Wednesday at the summit and 8 inches at Main Lodge. Those numbers are forecast to grow quickly and regularly through the rest of the month.
