SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Severe flooding caused multiple lanes to close on both sides of the 5 Freeway in Sun Valley on Wednesday.
After a few hours of cleanup, the lanes were reopened around 3:30 p.m. Caltrans workers waded in waist-deep water on the freeway to clean it out and reduce the flood waters.
The agency also tweeted out a photo of the water-free roads after the cleanup.
The northbound side was down to just one lane at Lankershim Boulevard, and the southbound side was also reduced to a single lane at Sheldon Street.
Also in Sun Valley, several cars were seen stuck in standing water near the intersection of Tuxford Street and San Fernando Road.
