1 struck by gunfire in Lawndale drive-by shooting

LAWNDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- A drive-by shooting in Lawndale left one person wounded and transported to a local hospital Sunday night.

The shooting happened around 8:15 p.m. near 162nd Street and Hawthorne Boulevard.

Witnesses said someone in a vehicle shot at pedestrians.

One male victim was down at the scene. His age and condition were not immediately known.

He was transported to a local trauma center.
