CARSON, Calif. (KABC) -- A 31-year-old man who pulled over after his vehicle became disabled was struck by multiple cars on the 405 Freeway in Carson, shutting down lanes early Sunday morning.
The incident was reported at 2:25 a.m. on the freeway just before the Wilmington Avenue off-ramp. The man had pulled over, but when he was exiting his car, he was hit by another car. That car fled the scene.
California Highway Patrol investigators believe that possibly two other vehicles also hit the man. Only one of those cars remained at the scene.
By 7:30 a.m., only the carpool lane had reopened.
