LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- American Apparel is under fire for its latest back-to-school ad campaign, which features young girls in miniskirts posed in what some say are compromising positions.

The Los Angeles-based company is known for its racy ads, sometimes featuring scantily clad models. Its new campaign targeting school age girls was posted on social media in the United Kingdom.

One of the photos features a model wearing a mini-skirt, bending over a car with a message reading, "Your first assignment is to dress accordingly."

"It looks like porn," Leah Moss of Studio City said.

American Apparel has been troubled by scandal. The retailer's founder was fired over allegations of sexual misconduct with employees.

Some people took to Twitter and other social media, accusing the company of going too far with its latest campaign. Mothers and teens Eyewitness News spoke to agree.

"I would not allow my daughter to wear anything like that, and they should not be advertising that with teenagers, you know, we have a lot of problems right now with kids dressing like that," Berta Cruz of Santa Clarita said.

American Apparel has not responded to our request for comment.
