Why do nonsmokers get lung damage?

They're looking at newly discovered air pollutants, so-called free radicals that attach to small particles of air pollution.

Scientists say these free radicals are remarkably similar to those found in cigarette tar.

Researchers say the findings are preliminary and more study is needed.
