The crash happened around 8:20 this morning on Route 10 in West Caln Township. That's where two vehicles, a Mazda Protégé and a Nissan Murano, collided.
The two people who were killed, Stephanie Buchanan and her 22-year-old son Randolph., were occupants of the Mazada involved in the crash. Officers say they were not wearing seatbelts.
The driver of the Nissan, Dave Boyer of Reading, was was in shock, but responsive and taken to Brandywine Hospital for treatment. Police say Boyer did have his seatbelt on.
Police tell Action News, the Mazda was traveling northbound on Route 10 when it lost control around a corner, kicked out into the southbound lanes, and was then struck by the Murano.
Detectives say it appears speed and weather conditions were a factor.
