The woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition. There were no other people in the car. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Firefighters rescue woman who drove off bridge
CHATSWORTH, Calif. The crash happened just before noon on Parthenia Street near Nobel Avenue. Once firefighters arrived, they climbed down into the 25-foot channel and placed the woman in a metal stretcher and used ropes and pullies to hoist high her above the channel to safety.
