A weapon was recovered, but it was unknown if it was the weapon used to kill the woman.
Police said when officers arrived, they found the woman dead. Her husband told police on scene that he had taken a large amount of medication. He was taken to a local hospital in police custody.
The victim's husband is expected to be booked for the woman's murder once he is released from the hospital.
The names of the victim and suspect have not yet been released.
