Ines Sainz, of Mexico's TV Azteca, said she was uncomfortable Saturday in the Jets' locker room, where a few players let loose with catcalls while she waited to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Jets owner Woody Johnson apologized to Sainz yesterday for his players' reported treatment. Today, head coach Rex Ryan said league representatives were talking with specific players and also coaches, one of whom is among those accused of deliberately throwing footballs to players standing near Sainz.
Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis apologized Tuesday after some comments he made on the topic of women reporters in locker rooms.
During an interview with 106.7 The Fan, he said that both players and female reporters have wandering eyes in the locker room. He later admitted he "was wrong to make the comments" and said he respects the job reporters do.
The NFL swiftly condemned Portis' comments as inappropriate and offensive.
