Asthmatics may get more flare-ups in winter

LOS ANGELES Cold air can exacerbate asthma symptoms just like mold and dust.

When people with asthma have colds, it can also trigger the airways in the lungs to get inflamed and become swollen.

Experts say preventive measures like using steroid inhalers may help during colder weather.
