Woman's home allegedly burglarized by pastor

DALLAS Police say they were called to the scene by a neighbor who spotted the female pastor breaking a window and climbing into the home.

Arriving officers say they caught the suspect, identified as Sandy McGriff, loading her car with the victim's furs and purses, and records show the pastor has a lengthy criminal history and goes by several aliases.

McGriff has denied the allegations.

"Everyone has a past. I am a giver, not a taker. I'm not a burglar," she said.

The pastor claimed she had stopped by to check on the woman when she caught two men breaking in, so she climbed through the window and took the woman's valuables to protect them from the burglars.

"I'm still having a hard time. I don't know what it was about," said victim Serita Agnew, adding that she had spoken to her pastor about 30 minutes prior to the incident.

McGriff has been charged with burglary and resisting arrest.
