Officers got a call about a man possibly drunk inside a car in the 5500 block of Margaret Avenue just before 7 a.m.
Arriving officers discovered Michael Baldwin, 34, apparently shot to death inside a stolen Lexus. Police said the car was reported as stolen two weeks ago from West Los Angeles.
Police said they set up a perimeter and the suspect was arrested nearby a short time later.
