Police said the 5-year-old was shot in the stomach on Monte Verde Street.
People were firing at each other from two moving vehicles just after 6 p.m. Monday. Witnesses said the vehicles involved were a blue truck and dark Chevy Blazer.
The child was taken to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in unknown condition.
