The Wrigleyville Rooftop experience began in 1974 when owner George Loukas purchased his first rooftop building on Waveland Avenue. Tenants and friends would climb through a hatch on the roof to take a peek at the game. As word spread of the good times and the breathtaking views, a cottage industry began to take hold. Rooftop hatches were replaced by stair cases and coolers and lunch sacks were replaced by beer kegs and BBQ grills. Soon after, strangers were asking Loukas to on the roof, and they were willing to spend money to do so. The Wrigleyville Rooftop industry was born.
