Reverend Maurice Chase, 92, has been doing this for 30 years. He gave out $20,000 provided by wealthy benefactors.
Most people got $1, but some of the very needy were given $20 or $100. Many waited in line for an hour.
"I think I see more and more people, I really do," said Chase. "More and more people. It's sad you know?"
But Chase said he gives out not only money, but a message of hope, especially on Easter.
