Bill Moyers returning to weekly TV in January

NEW YORK

He said Monday that he will be back in January with an hourlong interview show called "Moyers & Company."

Moyers said the show will be distributed to public TV stations by American Public Television and will not be carried by PBS, the home for much of his past programming.

He recently hosted PBS' "Bill Moyers Journal," which ended in April 2010.

Moyers, 77, said his new show will feature interviews with diverse voices and will aim to contribute "to the conversation of democracy."

Moyers once worked in the administration of President Lyndon Johnson. He was also a commentator for CBS News and NBC News.
