Torrance company recalling Yamaya Masago

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.

Yamaya USA, Inc. says the Masago, a kind of caviar, was distributed to stores in Los Angeles, Baltimore, Atlanta and Mexico.

It is labeled "Item No. 09867."

The company says the contamination was discovered during microbiological sampling of the facility by the Food and Drug Administration. Yamaya says it has ceased production and distribution of the product as it and the FDA continue an investigation into what caused the problem.

No illnesses have been reported from this recall.

Consumers who bought the product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
