New video was released of the exact moment of the quake that struck on Wednesday. People were seen running in panic in front of a big cloud of smoke, signaling the collapse of a hotel in Van, Turkey.
Many of those who died this week were in buildings weakened from a 7.2 magnitude quake about two weeks ago. That quake killed more than 600 people.
Journalists and relief workers - who had rushed to the region in the aftermath of the more powerful quake - themselves became victims Wednesday. The fatalities include a Japanese relief worker who had come to distribute aid to quake survivors.
Angry residents protested in Van, accusing authorities of failing to properly inspect the buildings following the Oct. 23 quake. Police responded with pepper spray.
