Detectives said the victim was sitting at a bus stop outside of a Vallarta supermarket on 18th Street East when the suspect offered her a ride home.
On the way, the suspect allegedly tried to rape the woman.
When she began screaming, he beat her, and then left her in a parking lot.
The suspect's vehicle was described as a wine colored, older model Toyota pickup truck with bucket seats.
