Flames broke out at a homeless encampment just north of the Rosecrans Avenue exit at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Once the fire was out, firefighters discovered the body of a wheelchair-bound homeless man in his 40s.
Investigators say there were no obvious signs of foul play but they will continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
They are also waiting for autopsy results.
