San Jacinto boy found, Amber Alert canceled

SAN JACINTO, Calif.

The /*Riverside County Sheriff's Department*/ said Domenic Smith was abducted Thursday at around 10:30 p.m. from a child care provider's residence in the 1900 block of Tennyson Street.

Four hours after an Amber Alert was issued statewide, the boy was found safe in Idyllwild, and his father, 25-year-old Anthony Stanley Smith-Dixon, was taken into custody when a business owner recognized the description of the car the suspect was said to be driving and called 911.

Officials say the child's mother has a restraining order against Smith-Dixon because she was scared of him. According to a court order, Smith-Dixon is not allowed to have custody of his son, and because of his past history, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department referred to him as armed and dangerous.
