The quake struck Sunday morning in northeast Italy in the area known for making parmesan cheese. Officials say it is the worst quake to hit the region since the 1300s.

Seven people were killed and residents inspected the damage following the quake. Fault lines ran through streets and along several homes, causing them to be unstable. Authorities say the quake caused millions of dollars in damage.
